Frequently asked questions
Will my health insurance cover the costs?
Treatment costs can be covered for privately insured patients as well as those with Beihilfe or Heilfürsorge – depending on the specific terms of your insurance. Regardless of insurance, treatment on a self-pay basis is available to everyone. For further details, see Costs & billing.
How long does therapy usually take?
This is individual and depends on your particular concern. For those with statutory health insurance, a distinction is made between short-term and long-term therapy, each with a defined number of sessions. Private health insurers and Beihilfe offices often handle approval individually according to your tariff, typically for a limited number of sessions that can be extended if needed. We clarify the exact framework together at the start of treatment and, where relevant, with your insurer.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
I currently have availability. Please reach out via the contact form and I will let you know the next available appointment.
Do you also offer online sessions?
Yes, that is possible – by arrangement and depending on the terms of your private health insurance. For self-pay clients, online sessions are available to the extent you would like.
What happens in the initial consultation?
In the initial consultation, we get to know each other: I explain how I work, and together we form a first impression of your concern. The session lasts about 50 minutes and is non-binding for you.
Is our conversation confidential?
Yes. Like all psychotherapists, I am bound by statutory confidentiality (§ 203 of the German Criminal Code).
